Tim Cleverdon is the founder and President of Bee Busters, Inc. Mr. Cleverdon is a degreed biologist and his diversified background includes the following:

~ 5 years experience in the medical field supervising a hospital's laboratory and X-ray departments.
Mr. Cleverdon is a registered Medical Technologist (MTASCP) with degrees in Microbiology, and Medical Technology, from Oklahoma State University.
~ over 35 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Cleverdon has marketed crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) in the Mid-Continent, Rocky Mountains and West Texas regions of the country.
~ 30 years experience in exploration and consulting endeavors in the energy industry.
~ Mr. Cleverdon is engaged in other entrepreneurial ventures as well.

                           History of Bee Busters, Inc.

Mr. Cleverdon is an active bee keeper and obtained his first colony of honey bees in 1992, in Littleton, Colorado. His interest began on Memorial Day when a swarm of honey bees landed in a fruit tree in his back yard. Initially the swarm was thought to be a raccoon or some other wild animal. After realizing they were honey bees, he contacted Larry Conyers, a friend and business associate, who was an active bee keeper. Larry provided an empty hive, the tools and the experience necessary to show Tim how to successfully capture the swarm.

In the fall when it was time to harvest the honey, Larry and his family came to the Cleverdon home and, again with his tools, knowledge and in conjunction with Tim's family, showed him how to harvest the honey. AND HOW SWEET IT WAS!!!!!
After that, Tim was hooked on beekeeping.

Over the years, Tim has helped a few friends get started in bee keeping. Additionally, he has helped people by capturing swarms (and removing a potential threat) for them, and at the same tme, enabling him to continue his bee keeping activities. After the influx and increase of the aggressive, so called 'Africanized' or 'Killer' bees, he decided to convert his hobby into a business and incorporated Bee Busters, Inc. in 2005.

In June of 2005, Tim passed the Commercial Applicator exams; then passed the Ornamental Pest Control and the General Pest Control categories, respectively, for both the Texas Department of Agriculture AND the Texas Structural Pest Control Board.
Even though Tim is commercially licensed in the state of Texas for pest control by two state agencies, he specializes in honey bee removal and does not solicit other pest control services. Many pest control companies do not want to put their employees at risk or assume the added liability* that exists with bees. Because of this, many synergies exist between other pest control companies and Bee Busters, Inc.

"There are many reasons to use our company", offered Mr. Cleverdon. The main reason is that because we focus only on bees, we 'know' bees  better than many others in the pest control business. Another distinct advantage of using Bee Busters, Inc. is the fact that we can actually capture a swarm of bees rather than exterminate it. At a time when the country's bee population has been decimated (in some reports by as much as 40-50%) by parasites, disease, predators and the misuse of pesticides, capturing bees should be given consideration in any bee removal activity. And this drop is before the recent 'Colony Collapse Disorder' that we are seeing by many LARGE commercial bee keepers across the country. Bees perform a crucial step in our food chain by pollinating many beneficial crops and plants; by some estimates, up to 80% of fruits and vegetables valued in the billions of dollars". Bee Busters captures, on average, about 12-15 swarms annually.

Several of the colonies which we captured have converted to the more aggressive type and we tried our hand at 're-queening' several hives to convert them back to the more docile, more productive species. Some of our re-queening efforts were successful, and some were not. "That's just bee keeping....."
One thing for the consumer to realize is that the longer a colony has been in place, the more likely it is that it has likely begun the conversion to the more aggressive type of bees. Just because the bees haven't 'attacked' any one does not mean that they are not the aggressive bees. It just means that they've not yet picked one up as a threat to their colony.

With Mr. Cleverdon's more than 35 years' experience in the energy industry, he is keenly aware of the need for ongoing safety training. The company supports, and will gladly participate in, any client company's specific training programs. Bee Busters, Inc. currently works with reputable oilfield safety training companies to obtain training for its employees that is acceptable to both major and independent energy companies. Additionally those businesses not in energy who need our services can benefit knowing that we have had additional safety training that exceeds all state and federal statutes.

Bee Busters, Inc. has prepared a power point presentation on Bee Safety. It is about an hour long, but can be tapered, with proper notice, to meet your company's needs. This has been well received by many companies in various industries.
